Sean Kingston's Top 5 Songs (apart from THAT one...)

Sean+Kingston+SQ.jpg

Sean Kingston recorded and released the single "Beautiful Girls" in May 2007, taking the entire world by storm. The song peaked at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and was a huge success internationally, topping the charts across the world and of course at home in the United Kingdom.

Although this is what Sean is most associated with, don’t forget that the Jamaican-American prodigy has loads of other Platinum selling records too - he’s far more than a one trick pony. Let us refresh your memory and take you back a few years for our top 5 Sean Kingston songs that you need to be ready for on June 15th…

1. BEAT IT (ft. Chris Brown & Wiz Khalifa)

This is our personal favourite, and ever since confirming Sean at the festival this has been the most played track at S&C HQ. After a while away from the spotlight, Sean came back with this absolute banger featuring Chris Brown and Wiz Khalifa. It really showed him in a different light, all grown up with two of the hottest artists at the time - and a fire music video to match. Filmed in a mind-blowing mansion, with some mesmerising models plus helicopters in the sky, no less. Not to mention the three artists looking beyond drippy. This video racked up over 170 million views and you can see why:

2. EENIE MEENIE (ft. Justin Bieber)

This tune brought two of the biggest sensations of the naughty noughties together in a glorious duet. This one is a real throwback. Just look at baby Beiber in the video, he’s not even old enough to be at that type of house party back in 2010! This is Sean’s second most viewed video of all time, with a massive 322 million views on YouTube - and those numbers don’t lie, ‘cos it’s our number 2 too! Enjoy:

3. FIRE BURNING

This was the lead single off Sean’s second album ‘Tomorrow’, the first post-’Beautiful Girls’ record, and it did not disappoint. This was a high-energy dancefloor filler, and deservedly went double platinum in the States (not an easy feat). Everyone expected Sean to be a ‘one hit wonder’, but the year long break preparing the new material was well worth it - give yourself a dose of this decade-old gold below:

4. TAKE YOU THERE

Did anyone else have this as a ringtone on their Motorola flip phone? (Just me then…) Another Billboard 100 top 10 track, racking up nearly 30 million views on YouTube, with the video featuring Rick Ross, DJ Khaled and Gunplay. Real SK fans will be going mad for this one in June. Get in the mood for that summer vibesing below (we can’t promise the palm trees in Cambridge though, I’m afraid):

5. FACE DROP

Remember the lil’ animated Sean Kingston in the video? The second single from his 2008 album ‘Tomorrow’ comes in at number 5, but it is definitely a feel-good banger that is worth a sing-a-long to any day of the week. The CGI graphics may have aged just a bit, but those Kingston melodies sound as fresh as ever:
