“Every time the weekend comes, yeahhh…”
Hailing from Leicester, rising star, singer/songwriter and actress Mahalia has been on the radar of the major labels since she was just a teenager - and has been praised as a stand out talent within the industry ever since. The 21 year old has already shared a stage with the likes of Emeli Sandé and Ed Sheeran, signing her first major deal at the ripe old age of 13, writing her first song aged 8, featuring on the title track of Rudimental’s album “We The Generation” when she was just 17 - as well as acting in the film ‘Brotherhood’ (2016).
Her music can be defined as alternative R&B / Soul, and takes inspiration from artists like Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu. Her intimate voice and soft beats captivate audiences, perfectly summing up an eclectic taste of modern day soul and R&B - blending in twists of lo-fi hip-hop and reggae in her production to create a truly unique sound. Her hit tracks “Do Not Disturb” and “Sober” have surpassed 15 million plays on Spotify alone, helping Mahalia get nominated for both the BBC Sound Of 2019 and BRITs Critics’ Choice awards this year.
There is plenty more in the pipeline for this incredibly talented 21 year old, and we are honoured to be welcoming such a class act to our stage in June. This is for those of you who like to party with a smile on your face. Believe us… a Mahalia live show is not one to miss!
