We’ve been searching for the best up-and-coming DJs, singers, rappers and musicians - offering them the chance to perform at S&C Festival on 15th June, and helping us to find the next generation of talent in our scene! #ChampionFuture.
All competition entries are now in, and below is our SHORTLIST that has been carefully hand-picked by our panel of industry experts.
They are now counting on YOUR VOTE to earn themselves a LIVE SET ON THE S&C STAGE!!
TO VOTE: all you have to do is listen through the entries and vote for your favourite using the form* below! You only have one vote, so make it count (duplicates will be removed).
ALL VOTES MUST BE COMPLETED BY THURSDAY 30TH MAY.
The winner will be announced on FRIDAY 31ST MAY - giving the lucky act two weeks to prepare a mind-blowing set for 15th June to 12,000 people…

Backstory: DJ of 16years, starting with Drum & Bass and gradually moving on to UKG, Bass Music, 140/Grime, Hip-Hop and more. Played in Germany and Canada, as well as across the UK.
2. Jay Krimzz
Genre/Style: Melodic Trap Ballads
Backstory: Started making music when I was sent to boarding school back in Africa, heavenly Influenced by American hip hop and recently been introduced to R’n’B. Been making music for ever since under Aces Music Group and much more to come.
3. DJ Prafal
Genre/Style: House, Urban, UKG, Commercial, Soul
Backstory: Warm up DJ sets for: Plan B, Chase & Status, Groverider, Musiq Soulchild, Backstreet. Residency currently in Nottingham & experience in radio presenting.
4. Naturally Linked Souls
Backstory: We are a crew that consists of 5 mc's/artists & 3 dj's which includes 3 in-house producers within ourselves most of our tracks are produced by our own people so u could say we are totally independant. We been going strong for years now had some of our tracks played on BBC 1xtra, we do it for a hobby more then anything we just have love for the music we make.
5. Flagz Sound
Category: Multi Genre DJ Group
Genre/Style: Soca - Specialise in Dancehall, Reggae and Soca.
Backstory: We are a multi genre playing music of Caribbean origin with a UK twist! We have played at various venues, carnivals and cities in the UK; Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester and abroad such as Germany, France, Barbados, New York, Toronto and Dubai. We would love this opportunity to bring the Caribbean flavour to Strawberries and Cream Festival!
Genre/Style: Afrohouse Reggaeton Hiphop Bootybeat
Backstory: The music world has changed and international vibes are becoming No'1 in the charts. I bring to you my blend of these beats' inspired by Cambridge hottest international night "BumBumTamTam" which I proudly co-host.
I've always been a big fan of eclectic beats mostly produced by unknown producers and that's what us "AFROSOULBROS" are slowly trying to bring to Cambridge!
7. Elmz XIX
Backstory: Elmz XIX is a Rap Artist, Songwriter, and Producer from Nottingham, UK.
He is noted for having a deep, captivating voice and profound lyrics often accompanying his own experimental production. He draws inspiration from old school Hip Hop, Grime and Reggae as heard on his BBC Introducing debut track “Passa Passa” and is carving out his own future sound.
He was recently a part of Capital Xtra's Music Potential 2018, a collective of the best young Musicians across the UK. This led to him performing at Outlook Festival in Croatia 2018.
Elmz XIX recently produced the music for an Adidas campaign.
He also designs his own clothes that feature his signature logo that he made and he produces all of his online marketing material.
First noticed aged 16 Elmz won Def Jam Rap Star’s nationwide contest for songwriting.
Credits include performing at Outlook Festival, Y Not Festival, Rock City, Rough Trade, Capital Xtra Music Potential, Nottingham Carnival, and more.
He is currently working on his debut EP “Don’t Look Down” to be released 2019.
8. Catherine Sunday
Backstory: From Camden.
Soundtrack to your beach days and neon nights.
Backstory: Hi guys! Firstly I want to thank you for this potential opportunity. my name is Jordan artist name Jaytee, from south east London 25 years old. I am what I Consider myself to be a commercial artist making music for all ages. Music to me should be fun which is why I express my personality and energy into my music. I have a release about to come out called “ Tropicana “ and so far my fans are dying to hear it. I’m shooting a video for it in Barcelona which will be released in June. I’m aiming for this to be a summer hit! I need a opportunity like this to kick start my potential career and hopefully I’ll be performing front stage next year!
Genre/Style: Urban R’n’B
Backstory: Modern, quirky, Urban, singer-songwriter Tai, is only 19-years-old hailing from Hertfordshire. Tai's notable nomination to date was being a finalist in the urban category for the UMAs, a Youth Music Award at the 2016 Unsigned Music Awards and she was in the top 10 at the Young Songwriter competition in 2015 and 2016.
Back in February 2017 Tai's track 'Downgrade' was aired on BBC Radio 1Xtra by DJ Ace and just under a month later in March 2017, Tai was interviewed at BBC introducing on the Edward Adoo show and her track ‘Wait’ was played. In 2018, Tai was scouted for The Voice UK whilst studying at college. Her performance at the blind auditions grabbed the attention of both Will.i.am and Tom Jones in which they turned their chairs, she decided to pick Will and he pushed her all the way through to the Semi-Finals!
Tai is currently working on several co-writes in the UK and America and is busy recording her second single which is set to be released this Spring. Most recently Tai has been formally invited onto the exclusive urban development course at Tileyard London to broaden her already exceptional vocals and industry knowledge.
11. K Cotterell
Genre/Style: Rap/ New Wave
Backstory: GMF (G Man Forever) artist, K Cotterell is a UK based rapper who boasts a variety of sounds ranging from authentic rap, to the new school melodic wave.
Born and raised in Sheffield, K Cotterell first started song writing and emceeing in his early teens; exploring the genres of Grime and Hip-Hop.
Studying Music Production at University, Cotterell has been heavily involved in sound engineering and mixing on his own projects throughout his career.
K Cotterell made his digital debut in February 2018, with his single “The Game”.
Releasing the majority of his visuals on the in-house GMF ENTERTAINMENT Youtube channel, Cotterell exhibits everything from emotion and heart felt lyrics accompanied by captivating videography , to more upbeat, vibrant energies; with illustrated and animated visuals.
12. Ohema X
Backstory: Singer, songwriter and fashion stylist based in North London.
Performed at Glastonbury festival 2017 and Wireless festival alongside Big Narstie.
Styled the likes of Louis Smith for The Graham Norton Show & ITV The Cube, also assisting stylists for Harry Potter’s Emma Watson, Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright to name a few.
Backstory: Egyptian artist not.fay (born Nour Alessandra Fahmy) has an innovative approach to pop & R&B.
Born in Switzerland, she soon moved to Amman in Jordan where she spent most of her life, and finally to London. Her diverse background has majorly affected the influence and style of music that she creates. She has a repertoire of tracks that appeals to both the masses and niche audiences, touching genres from Alternative RnB to Dancehall club hits.
In 2018, not.fay entered the official Music Week charts at #27 with her single #CandyCrush. Later that year, she signed with record label & distributor EMPIRE.
not.fay has amassed a large social media following of over 60K fans, notably due to her women empowerment/body positivity mantra. She has opened for several artists such as Yizzy and Seafoal, and her debut album is set to be released in 2019.
Backstory: Abdelrahman Aljindi , Known by his stage name as Jindi , is a Sudanese singer/songwriter based in dubai.his influences include a wide range of genres from Funk/Soul, Rnb to Dancehall & Reggae. Jindi is known for his retro showmanship and dance oriented live performance. Being raised in the UAE , The sudanese artist started off by going to different Open Mics , Community gigs across the city to performing in different Bars ,festivals in the region . Having been exposed to a diverse culture in the UAE, has influenced his character as an artist and developed a musical ear for the dubai-based singer ,by incorporating different elements into his music.The independent artist is currently working on his first Ep , after the release of his debut single “By your side “ , Jindi follows up with Running ( On my mind ) and his latest Pop/Funk groove “Dance Floor” , which is the second single of his upcoming Ep, A record that has touches from the 80's Funk music.The new single incorporates a talk box and a signature baseline , making it Jindi’s first Pop/funk track.
15. Elliot Crawford
Backstory: Hi I'm Elliot Crawford. I have been called what some say a 'social influencer' for a few years now and started to use my Youtube platform to broadcast home made music videos. Before all that I was at The Brighton Institute of Music University. I have a massive passion for music and love to try new beats.
