Strawberries in the Spotlight - S&C Media Update
With less than 3 weeks to go now until we shake the foundations of Cambridge off the Richter scale, we thought we should bring you up to speed with the shockwaves that we have been sending across the UK media recently.
If you need any more convincing to join us on June 15th, this should get you excited for sure...
The Guardian’s TOP 10 FESTIVALS
Earlier this month, the Guardian, one of Britain’s most trusted newspapers, included us in their “10 Best Music Festivals in the UK for 2019”. Glastonbury topped the bill naturally, but we were in incredibly good company across the board - sharing the limelight with the likes of Lovebox, Wireless, Field Day and Houghton. We’re honoured to make their prestigious list!
In the glowing write-up, Leonie Cooper also adds a Bechdel test (assessing line up diversity). Not only did we pass but she adds that with our headliners Stefflon Don and Ms Dynamite it “makes for an effortless win!”. Thanks to her and The Guardian for the love and support.

Big ups in UK FESTIVAL GUIDES
As summer draws closer, the hype and anticipation for festival season is fuelled by the release of official festival guides and previews. Most publications put their own spin on things “best small festivals”, “best festivals to go to on a budget”, “boutique festivals close to London” etc.
S&C was recommended in the Evening Standard’s ‘Best Affordable Festivals’ list, as well as The Mirror’s ‘Best UK Festivals for under £100’ - plus we got some lovely shout outs from Grazia, Cosmopolitan, Wonderland, Red Bull, Hello Magazine and many more! Big love to all of them.
BBC RADIO 1XTRA and MTV at S&C
We are also working with some of the best media partners around, such as Dummy Magazine - who are following all the action in The Big Top Tent stage. In the last month, we’ve added MTV and BBC Radio 1Xtra who will also be covering the event on the day.
1Xtra takeover the Big Top for 2 hours with Kenny Allstar and Snoochie Shy - and you can expect a high-energy ride through all things UK urban, as well as some very special guests! Last year, Kenny brought out the likes of Ambush and Aitch and had Skepta watching his whole set - so watch this space, and make sure to catch him on the day...
We have also been included as one a select few festivals that MTV will be capturing as part of their ‘MTV On The Road’ tour - you’ll see them filming around the site, so make sure your outfits are on point as you may well end up on the big screen!
S&C takeover on RINSE FM
Our very own Cardinal Sound (S&C resident DJ & organiser) hosted a special Strawberries & Creem show on the legendary home of underground UK music Rinse FM, featuring the Heatwave and SK. This aired on Monday 27th, and will be uploaded to their Soundcloud and website this week.
He chatted to the artists about their upcoming festival season performances, and dropped some important info about what to expect this year at S&C too - so have a listen when you can!
