Nigerian Rising Star Tems Featured on Future’s New Album

American heavy weight rapper Future just released his highly anticipated ninth studio album “I Never Liked You’ to serve us the summer bangers we’ve been craving for.

The Atlanta Trap don teamed up with an all-star cast including Drake, Gunna and fast-rising Nigerian superstar Tems create an excellent body of work.

The highly sought-after singer Temilade Openiyi better known as Tems, appeared on the hook of the single titled ‘Wait for you’ alongside Canadian Hitmaker Drake to create what would instantly rise to the top of the charts. Within 24 hours of its release, ‘Wait For You’ rose to number one on the Apple music USA Singles Charts. The singer is also the very first female Nigerian artist to do so. Her hook on the smash hit is a sample from her single ‘Higher’ of her debut album for broken Ears. Her enchanting, romantic lyrics and her soulful, captivating voice, gave the track just what it needed to stand out on the 16-track album and easily become everyone’s favourite song on the album.

 Over the past two years, Tems’ name has caught the attention of the world like wildfire ever since she made an appearance on Afrobeats veteran Wizkid’s Essence from his critically acclaimed Made In Lagos album in the autumn of 2020. Fast-forward to today, the world has yet to take its eyes of the alté singer as she has continued to make waves in the global music scene.
