Lil Wayne

American rapper Lil Wayne also known as Young Mula Baby, Lil Tunechi or to many ‘the best rapper alive’ will be gracing the S&C main stage in his ONLY UK SHOW – and fans across the country are sharing their excitement. The Mrs Officer rapper will be returning to the UK after 14 years and has no other European performance scheduled in 2022 - so you already know where to be on 18th June.

Lil Wayne is considered to be one of the most influential names in hip hop today. He’s been running the game since 1997 when he first came out at the tender age of 14 when he joined the rap group; the Hot boys. Since then, the New Orleans bred has rapper been giving us ground-breaking bodies one after the other, including 14 studio albums, one collaborative album, three compilation albums, five extended plays, and twenty-nine mixtapes! How many artists today can say their catalogue is that extensive?

From his debut solo album, The Block Is Hot to Tha Carter (I-V), Rebirth and his latest 2022 album Sorry For the Wait, Mr Carter never misses, and lives up to his title as best rapper alive as he’s broken multiple records, won 5 Grammys and influenced hip-hop for generations to come. Lil Wayne will be making S&C history on the Main Stage – 18th June 2022. It’s going to be epic…

Mabel

British-Swedish singer Mabel will be turning up the party for us as she headlines the main stage – which will be the first time she’s doing so for a UK festival. The Pop and R&B singer/songwriter has made her mark in the UK music scene and beyond when she released her breakthrough smash “Finder Keepers” in 2017 which peaked at number eight on the UK charts. Since then, she’s kept the momentum of delivering hits back-to-back. Her debut studio album, High Expectations (2019), entered the UK Albums Chart at number three and was certified platinum. In 2020 the album included three UK top-10 singles: “Don’t Call Me Up”, “Mad Love” and “Boyfriend”.

This outstanding body of work awarded the singer the Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist. Over the years, Mabel has shown range and growth in her musical catalogue, as she has delved into different styles; from contemporary R&B to dance-pop to create mood-lifting bangers, feel good songs and love songs you can’t cry but only dance to. Mabel always hits the nail on the head.

Catch Mabel set the stage on fire at the one and only S&C Main Stage on Saturday. We’re ready to party!

The whole world was obsessed with the infectious banger as there was no escaping hearing the tune on every social media platform, you can think of.

This is not the first time the North London rapper has topped the charts. She’s been paving a way for herself since she was on 17 years old dropping freestyles during a time where there weren’t too many women in the UK represented in the rap space. Now, she is one of the biggest names in UK rap and has extended her horizon on an international scale with major collabs in the Afrobeats scene such as Bop Daddy Remix (by Falz) and Party (featuring Naira Marley).
